How are Nigeria national football team standings decided?
Three points for a win and one for a draw. If teams finish level, goal difference is checked first, then goals scored, then the head-to-head result between the tied teams.
How many teams qualify from a CAF group?
The group winner takes the direct slot. The best-placed runners-up across the groups then enter a play-off round for the remaining continental places.
Why did the Super Eagles FIFA ranking drop after a win?
The ranking is a weighted rolling average. A narrow win over a much lower-ranked side in a friendly can earn fewer points than the average Nigeria already holds, which pushes the number down.
Where does Nigeria sit in its group right now?
